The internet is like the wild-west frontier from a bygone era, where everybody was on a level playing field except instead of guns, internet entrepreneurs use their wits and stamina to succeed!

What is the internet?

The internet is a worldwide, inter-connected computer network of which everybody is monitored via an IP address specific to your connection to the web. It was developed by the United States in case of a nuclear war, the defense department wanted to make sure it had a way of mounting a second strike if all primary computer networks where obliterated. It other words, the internet arose in order to ensure that mutually assured destruction was a guarantee!

What makes the internet a revolutionary medium?

More then anything else, the fact that you can reach a worldwide audience with nothing more then an IP address speaks volumes about how truly revolutionary the internet has become. From Skype to Messenger, e-mail to owning a domain… you can now live in a world that never shuts down, never sleeps, one that is free of geographic and political boundaries. Just consider this for a moment, if there was no internet right now, you would still need a land line to talk to your relatives who are far away, telecommuting and teleconferencing would only be in the reaches of the richest of corporations and, you would be a slave to your fax machine. It’s quite easy to say that without the internet, the incredible advances in just about every field from pharmaceuticals to industrials would be far behind compared to where they are today. Instant global communication systems are the promise that the internet has brought to most nations around the world.

Why the internet has become a vast puzzle

The internet is like an enormous tree that has grown in just about every conceivable direction, free from the binds of gravity and resources. This tree is always evolving, changing, developing new methods of increasing efficiency and developing new roots towards profitability. As a result, the internet has become, to put it lightly, the largest maze that man has ever created. It is impossible now to make heads or tails of it… it simply is.

Monetizing a maze

Anybody who has spent time walking through a maze will realize that some people are lucky and figure out the right path out while others just keep hitting dead-ends. Ask anybody who has been in internet marketing for a few years and you will see every possible extreme of success and failure. Vast fortunes have been made and lost in the pursuit of the most efficient path towards the riches that lye just at the other end of this enormous maze. If you can figure it out, you will retire many times over in a relatively short period of time. Incredibly lucky individuals have done this already, the founder of Facebook became a billionaire within 2 years, same goes with YouTube, Google and the list goes on. This is what I find the most intriguing part of the internet, overnight success can happen at any time if enough critical mass develops in your applications.

You can never find success in any venture without taking the first step towards turning a dream into a reality.
